Stefan Wallin

Stefan Walling is the Chairman of the Board of the Åbo Akademi University Foundation, a Finnish politician, and a former chairman of the Swedish People’s Party of Finland. He served as a Member of Parliament from 2007 onwards and held several ministerial positions, including Minister of the Environment, Minister of Culture and Sports, Minister of Defence and Minister for Nordic Cooperation.

With a Master’s degree in Political Science, Wallin has been actively engaged in issues related to security, environmental policy, and governance. At A’Pelago Initiative, he will address “The Baltic Sea Shadow Fleets – Pollution and Sanction Evasion?”, shedding light on the environmental and geopolitical challenges posed by illicit maritime operations in the region.
